|Dr Sirkka Komulainen is currently a senior researcher at the Institute of Migration, Finland. She has expertise in research and policy on migration and families. She obtained a PhD in sociology at the University of Surrey, Guildford in 2004 on children’s rights issues (ESRC award). She has worked as a researcher, consultant and a tutor in the UK between 2000-2009, including both academic and policy sectors. She has recently published a research study on multicultural education issues in Turku, Finland. She was an ex-pat for about 14 years in the UK and the ROI before returning back to Finland in 2010.
